AFSCME held a "coffee caucus" in Las Vegas at Dona Maria's Tamales Shop in Las Vegas on Friday February 22, the night before the Nevada Democratic Caucus. Members of AFSCME Local 4041, Retirees Sub-Chapter 153 and Retirees Chapter 4041 members Charlie Muller, Roger Bremner, Nick Frost, Patty Machal, Laura Leavitt and Steve Suwe, came together for the "pre-caucus" event.
AFSCME President Lee Saunders and AFSCME Local 4041 President Harry Schiffman , hosted and moderated the event and introduced Presidential Candidates Tom Steyer and Pete Buttigieg along with representatives from the campaigns of Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. Each candidate and rep spoke to the crowd on behalf of their respective presidential campaigns but the underlying theme of everyone was "coming together" to support whoever eventually ends up as the Democratic Nominee in the 2020 Presidential.
As a side note, the Republican Party in Nevada is not having a caucus this year and President Donald Trump was declared the Nevada Republican candidate by acclimation.
